Having recently graduated from KA and being a part of Ignite for 3 years, I can confidently say that it has equipped me with many tools I will carry with me, especially through these next years at college. Ignite was always a place where I felt safe. I knew that those around me, whether peers, or leaders were there to support each and everyone there. Over the years the team has brought in some amazing speakers that I really appreciated because I felt that all the talks were very relevant to our lives, day, and age. Throughout my days, little quotes or phrases that someone had said in their talk would pop into my mind and they always stuck with me as encouragement.

Ignite has always done an incredible job with their retreats. The team never fails to go above and beyond for us all, and each one of the leaders truly has such a beautiful servant's heart that truly touched me and made me feel so loved. Something that I love about Ignite is how close I was with my leaders. There was a perfect balance between faith and fun which I really appreciated. We were able to laugh (a LOT) but also talk through some serious questions as well. Over the years we had numerous talks on personal prayer. This is something that doesn’t come easy to me but from each talk I always walked away saying “ohh yeah that actually makes sense why we need it”… it took some time to get to a consistent point, and I'm still getting there but the time that I do take for personal prayer is time greatly needed, and is honestly refreshing.

If I could say anything to the underclass participating in ignite, I'd say: take Ignite seriously and take your faith seriously…it may not be your favorite thing to go to but if you’re there, you’re there for a reason so don’t just go for the fun but also to grow your faith as well. If you really listen to what is being said I promise you, you will gain so much from whatever is being said. High school goes by fast and after that you’re on your own and it’s up to you to make the decision to find a support group. Lastly, I would just like to thank all the leaders, especially Julia (my own sister). I have seen the immense amount of work put into each and every Ignite night so thank you for all you’ve done for us, and for making our years of Ignite so special!
