YES Retreat: "The Word was Made Flesh"

Updated: Jan 18

Q&A with Ignite Teen Q: What is the YES Retreat?
A: For me, the yes retreat is when many communities from all over the country come together for 2 days to worship the Lord. To meet new people, to get out of your comfort zone, and to experience the Lord in a different way. Q: What was the theme of the retreat and what is one take away from it? A: The theme was “The Word was made Flesh” and for me, I think it’s a really good theme. During this retreat, we talked about womanhood, what it means to be a disciple of God, and how to pray. We were in small groups and I loved that part during the retreat. I got to see what my parents do every Wednesday!
"I met so many new people and now I’m really good friends with them. So I feel like the Lord wanted me to explore my friendships and see how it goes"
Q: What was one thing the Lord was speaking or saying to you throughout the retreat or after? A: During the Yes retreat, I felt a little comfy in my comfort zone, and I didn’t want to meet anyone, just stay with my friends. But on Saturday night, I felt called to reach out of my comfort zone and talk to some people. I finally did and it was the best! I met so many new people and now I’m really good friends with them. So I feel like the Lord wanted me to explore my friendships and see how it goes. Q: What was the highlight of this retreat for you? A: A highlight for me for the Yes retreat was seeing God from a different point of view. I wasn’t afraid to put my hands up or to praise the Lord. I loved making new friends, I still chat with them to this day! I loved the Yes Retreat, in fact, it’s probably one of my favorite highlights of the year!
